The Problem
The founder of C’est la vie magazine set out with a singular, profound mission: to create a premium print publication that brought women together around the empowering truth that they are already enough exactly as they are. Grounded deeply in inclusive, multi-faith spirituality, the magazine needed to feel like an intentional, high-end sanctuary in print form. The challenge was translating this intimate, deeply emotional message into a physical piece of media. A standard, cluttered magazine template would destroy the serene, soulful reading experience the founder wanted to protect.
The Strategy & Creative Production
Stepping in as a core creative collaborator, I managed the entire visual architecture of the publication. I designed custom, editorial page layouts that favored generous whitespace, beautiful font hierarchies, and clean column structures that allowed the articles to breathe. Beyond the grid layout, I actively shaped the soul of the magazine by contributing original written articles as a featured author and stepping behind the camera to shoot custom photography to match the vibe of the publication. This seamless integration of writing, layout design, and custom imagery ensured that the physical magazine felt completely unified from the front cover to the final page turn.
